Other interesting nuggets, did you know Rebekah had her nose pierced? Yes, you read that right, and if you need proof it's in Genesis 24. ;) Abraham sent his most trusted servant to seek a wife for his son, Isaac. Abraham sent his servant with a nose ring and bracelets for Rebekah, as an offering for becoming Isaac's wife. So, the next time you see someone with a nose ring, remember this story and do not be too quick to judge.
Job. This book in it's entirety is interesting. Though I have read it before, there is such comfort in it. Comfort in knowing that while Job told God exactly how he felt, God ultimately respected Job's honesty and truthfulness. Unlike Job's friends who ranted. (Job 47:7) Oh, and I loved this..."And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends...now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning." (Job 42:10; 12) Job prayed for his friends even after they verbally beat him up for days. He could have see I told you so. I told you I was righteous in the sight of God, but he didn't. He prayed for them. In doing so, although it isn't said I'm sure he also forgave them, and the Lord blessed him for doing so.
These are just a few interstings things I have learned from my daily Bible reading. I have also just started Beth Moore's, Here and Now...There and Then study on Revelation so I'm sure I will all kinds of things to blog about over the next 11 weeks. Happy Monday to you all!
